Casino in East Boston

Today I am here to blog about my views on the recent proposal for a casino that is being proposed for the Suffolk downs horse race track in East Boston. The proposed casino would be supposedly influential in a good way,but that is where I disagree entirely. The jobs that they say will be brought in is just not telling the whole story. The rest of the local businesses would be slowly run over by the vast power of an incoming casino. Why would you go to a local restaurant for dinner before you go into the casino when you can just have dinner in the casino? The local businesses would be hit significantly by money loss and they would slowly start to shut down. The traffic effects to an already popular place would become even more difficult to go in. The casino will bring down and outs, much crime,traffic and addiction to east Boston. All in all I think this would be a terrible idea. What do you think?

    I think that the small businesses don't need a much larger power to compete with, great choice of topic.

    I never thought about how the casino would create different ideas around it, and throughout the city. I find this to be an awesome post!

    This is a really great issue to debate! I think, as much as small business needs room to compete, the casino's right to be there should at least be considered. A vote is the correct path to take, I believe.

    I personally think that bringing a casino to east boston would be a great idea, we are applying jobs yes, but east Boston is mostly industial, a casino could never hurt
